Job summary

RYZ Labs is seeking a Principal Software Architect to lead the technical evolution of a major client’s software platforms. The role blends strategy with hands-on coding, setting modern standards and embedding DevSecOps practices across distributed teams.

You will drive architecture decisions, bootstrapping core frameworks while advocating efficient, secure CI/CD andIaC approaches, all within a remote LATAM-focused setting. Strong English communication is essential.

Qualifications

• Minimum 10+ years in software engineering, architecture, or technical leadership.
• Hands-on architect with track record of building multi-tier distributed systems and bootstrapping core frameworks.
• Deep DevSecOps experience, CI/CD, containerization, and IaC (OpenTofu / Pulumi).
• Proven leadership to guide cross-functional teams and drive architectural adoption without direct management authority.
• Excellent written and spoken English for client communication with leadership and non-technical stakeholders.
• Solid Agile delivery background with modern delivery tools.

Responsibilities

About the Opportunity

Ryz Labs is looking for a strategic and hands-on Principal Software Architect to join the engineering team of one of our key international clients. In this role, you will lead the technical evolution and modernization of our client's software applications and digital platforms, operating at the intersection of technical strategy, platform architecture, and software craftsmanship.

This is a high-impact, hands-on leadership role where you will bridge long-term architectural strategy with day-to-day execution - writing core code, establishing modern software standards, embedding DevSecOps practices, and guiding cross-functional teams across the client's ecosystem.

What You Will Do

• Architecture Strategy & Execution: Drive architecture strategies for both new applications and legacy platform modernizations; write core code components to bootstrap frameworks and set implementation baselines.
• Engineering Standards & Optimization: Accelerate adoption of reusable libraries, standardized workflows, DevSecOps principles, and automated CI/CD pipelines across the client's development teams.
• Cost & SLA Management: Partner with product managers and client stakeholders to bring visibility to infrastructure costs and help define Service Level Agreements (SLAs).
• Mentorship & Technical Guidance: Lead engineering communities, conduct architectural reviews, and mentor tech leads to foster technical rigor and continuous delivery quality.

What We Are Looking For

• 10+ years of experience in software engineering, software architecture, or technical leadership roles.
• Hands-on Architecture: Strong track record of designing multi-tier distributed systems while actively writing production code and bootstrapping core technical frameworks.
• DevSecOps & Platform Automation: Deep experience with modern CI/CD pipelines, containerization, DevSecOps practices, and Infrastructure-as-Code (OpenTofu / Pulumi).
• Leadership & Influence: Proven capability to guide cross-functional technical teams, establish engineering baselines, and drive architectural adoption without direct management authority.
• Client Communication & English: Exceptional written and verbal English skills to translate complex architectural decisions and trade-offs directly to client leadership and non-technical stakeholders.
• Agile Delivery: Solid project management foundation grounded in Agile methodologies and modern delivery tools.
• Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.

Preferred Qualifications

• Prior experience developing software within business consulting, enterprise SaaS, or advisory environments.
• Hands-on experience building technical consensus across cross-functional and matrixed client teams.
• Active contributions to open-source software projects or technical developer communities.
• Track record of designing internal training programs and uplifting engineering practices.
