Job summary

Ampere Computing is seeking a Principal SoC IP & Interconnect Architect in Santa Clara, CA to define and integrate advanced SoC and interconnect IP for next-generation Ampere products. You will steer high-performance I/O architectures and collaborate across systems, design, verification, and software teams.

You will lead architecture definition, subsystem interfaces, and trade-off decisions, ensuring scalable, power-aware, and production-ready Ampere IP solutions.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of SoC architecture or design experience.
• Familiar with SoC interconnect and coherent fabric architecture.
• Knowledge of AMBA AXI and CHI protocols in cache-coherent SoC designs.
• Experience with performance models for bandwidth, latency, scalability, and workload analysis.
• Experience across the full IP lifecycle from selection to silicon bring-up.

Responsibilities

• Lead the definition, architecture, and integration of SoC and interconnect IP for next-gen Ampere products.
• Own end-to-end architecture of one or more I/O and interconnect subsystems, balancing performance, power, and scalability.
• Drive cross-functional alignment with system architects, design, verification, and software teams.
• Outline subsystem interfaces, integration strategies, and architectural requirements for seamless connectivity.
• Define subsystem-level SoC architecture with CPU and compute-engine teams.
• Influence key technical decisions and resolve architecture tradeoffs throughout development.
