Job summary

Lonza in Bend, Oregon seeks a Principal Engineer, Site Reliability to support reliable production of life-changing medicines. This site-based role collaborates with Manufacturing, Engineering, and Maintenance to drive reliability strategies that improve equipment performance and uptime.

You will lead root cause investigations, analyze asset data to identify trends, optimize spare parts strategies, and establish KPIs, contributing to audits and continuous improvement in a regulated manufacturing

Qualifications

• Significant experience in reliability, maintenance, engineering, manufacturing, or operations environments.
• Experience leading complex projects and collaborating with cross-functional teams.
• Strong knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems and equipment reliability practices.
• Experience using maintenance management and asset performance systems to support decision-making.
• Knowledge of cGMP environments, engineering standards, and maintenance best practices.
• Strong problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.
• Ability to influence stakeholders and drive continuous improvement in a regulated manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

• Develop and lead reliability strategies that improve asset performance, equipment uptime, and operational efficiency.
• Partner with Manufacturing, Engineering, and Maintenance teams to support site goals and regulatory compliance.
• Lead root cause investigations and reliability improvement initiatives to prevent recurring equipment failures.
• Analyze maintenance and asset performance data to identify trends and improve reliability programs.
• Optimize asset criticality assessments and spare parts strategies to support business continuity.
• Establish and monitor reliability and maintenance KPIs and communicate results to senior leadership.
• Support audits, continuous improvement activities, and new equipment projects to ensure long-term reliability and maintainability.
