Job summary

Lonza Group Ltd. in Bend, Oregon, seeks a Principal Engineer, Site Reliability, to develop and lead reliability strategies that improve asset performance, uptime, and compliance in manufacturing operations.

You will partner with Manufacturing, Engineering, and Maintenance to drive root-cause investigations, data analysis, and KPI tracking, while supporting audits and new equipment projects. This is a fully site-based, in-person role at Lonza.

Qualifications

• Experience in reliability, maintenance, manufacturing, or operations.
• Proven ability to lead complex projects with cross-functional teams.
• Strong knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems.
• Experience using maintenance management and asset performance systems.
• Familiarity with cGMP environments and maintenance best practices.
• Strong problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.
• Ability to influence stakeholders in a regulated setting.

Responsibilities

• Develop and lead reliability strategies to improve asset performance and uptime.
• Collaborate with Manufacturing, Engineering, and Maintenance to support site goals.
• Lead root cause investigations and reliability improvement initiatives.
• Analyze maintenance and asset performance data to identify trends.
• Optimize spare parts strategies and criticality assessments.
• Establish and monitor reliability KPIs and report to senior leadership.
• Support audits and new equipment projects for long-term reliability.
