Elastic, the Search AI Company, is seeking a Principal engineer to steer the Serverless control plane for Elastic Cloud Serverless. You will define architecture, drive multi-team programs, and own platform reliability across cloud providers.

Qualifications

8+ years building software and leading complex distributed systems
Deep expertise in Kubernetes and cloud-native architectures
Proficiency with Go and hands-on cloud provider experience
Experience operating high-availability SaaS platforms and incident response
Proven track record using AI to accelerate development and debugging
Ability to collaborate across teams and drive independent decisions

Responsibilities

Set the technical direction for major Serverless initiatives from proposal to GA
Lead multi-quarter projects with dependencies across Elasticsearch and Kibana
Design, build, and evolve distributed systems that orchestrate Serverless projects
Raise the operational bar, lead incident investigations and on-call rotations
Mentor engineers and elevate the team's technical judgment
Collaborate with product management and senior engineers on trade-offs and roadmap direction
