Job description

For our client, we are seeking a Principal Security Software Engineer, PKI and Secrets Management to join the team of a leader in the Manufacturing & Automotive space.

This role will focus on designing and building security software that strengthens how engineering teams protect applications, services, and infrastructure. The ideal candidate will bring deep software engineering expertise and a strong security mindset to help embed secure practices into modern cloud-native development workflows. You will collaborate closely with product and platform engineers to scale security capabilities, improve automation, and reduce risk across the software lifecycle. This is a hands‑on technical role with broad impact on secure engineering standards, telemetry, and response readiness.

Location: Remote

Compensation: $201,600 – $309,900 annually

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain security-focused software components and tools
• Develop automation frameworks for secure patterns adoption by product teams

Qualifications

• Advanced proficiency in a modern programming language such as Python, Go, Java, or C++
• Experience with AI-assisted development tools such as GitHub Copilot
• Experience designing and operating services on major cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP
• Hands‑on experience with containerization and orchestration technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes
• Solid understanding of core security concepts applied to software engineering
