Job summary

Johnson & Johnson's Orthopaedics & Spine team seeks a Principal Scientist to lead growth factor programs and expansion of the Novosis portfolio in collaboration with CG BIO. This role will drive product development, regulatory strategy, and cross-functional launches in a global context.

The candidate will engage surgeons, develop training materials, and contribute to evidence generation for market access, while ensuring alignment with DePuy Synthes' standards and regulatory requirements.

Qualifications

• Advanced degree (Ph.D. or MS) in Biomedical Engineering, Materials Science, Molecular Biology, or a closely related highly technical discipline.
• Minimum of 8 years of progressive R&D or technical leadership experience in medical devices, biotech, or pharma.
• Experience in spine or orthopedic trauma spaces, with understanding of surgical workflows and bone healing biology.
• Strong regulatory knowledge with US processes (BLA, PMA, 510(k)).

Responsibilities

• Serve as SME and technical lead for CG BIO partnership, guiding external and internal teams for global launches and lifecycle management.
• Collaborate with CG BIO on initiatives to improve Novosis formulations and technical kits, ensuring release kinetics and bioactivity meet market needs.
• Translate surgeon needs into technical specs for CG BIO concepts, and drive development with regulatory and reimbursement strategies.
• Educate sales and marketing teams through comprehensive training modules and materials.
