Job summary

Johnson & Johnson is seeking a Principal Scientist, R&D – Orthopedics Growth factors, located in West Chester, PA or Raynham, MA, to lead collaboration with CG BIO and drive Novosis putty development for spine indications while exploring other form factors.

You will oversee technically complex programs, mentor teams, and ensure robust evidence generation for regulatory and commercial success in the global spine and trauma markets.

Qualifications

• Advanced degree in a highly technical discipline relevant to orthopedics.
• 8+ years of progressive R&D or technical leadership in medical devices, biotech, or pharma.
• Experience in spine or orthopedic trauma, with workflow and healing biology knowledge.
• Proven biomaterials experience with carrier materials and release profiles.
• Regulatory knowledge for US FDA submissions (BLA/PMAs/510(k)).

Responsibilities

• Lead the CG BIO partnership, guiding internal and external teams for global launches and lifecycle management.
• Drive development of Novosis formulations and procedural kits with optimal handling and bioactivity.
• Translate surgeon needs into technical specs; support KOL engagement and training.
• Design and implement evidence generation plans to support regulatory submissions and market access.
