Job summary

Bristol Myers Squibb is seeking a Principal Scientist for Engineered Cell Therapy Discovery in Seattle to lead the development of next-generation CAR T and eTCR T cell therapies. The role drives strategy, mentors scientists, and partners with cross-functional teams to advance preclinical programs toward clinical development.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree required.
  • Master’s Degree preferred.
  • Ph.D. or equivalent advanced degree in Life Sciences required.
  • 4+ years of relevant experience in academic or industry settings.
  • Strong leadership of independent research programs preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provides scientific leadership and sets strategic direction for engineered CAR T and eTCR T cell therapy programs.
  • Leads in vitro functional screening for T cell cytotoxicity and cytokine production.
  • Designs and optimizes genetic constructs and gene delivery approaches to improve potency and safety.
  • Mentors junior scientists and guides cross-functional project teams.
  • Translates in vitro findings to in vivo xenograft studies to inform go/no-go decisions.
  • Collaborates across wet lab, computational, and clinical teams across multiple sites.
  • Delivers data-driven research strategy presentations to senior leadership.
