Job summary

Analog Devices, Inc. seeks a hands-on Principal Robotics Software Engineer to lead software architecture across robot systems and the development infrastructure used for Physical AI. You will set technical direction while guiding engineers of varying levels to deliver shared milestones.

The role focuses on owning manipulation use cases, evolving the ROS 2 stack, integrating hardware and learned policies, and ensuring production‑grade engineering with tests, CI, and release practices.

Qualifications

• 8+ years in robotics or embedded software development.
• Proven ability to deliver software from design to production.
• Strong C++ and Python and ROS 2 experience.
• Knowledge of robot control, timing, safety.
• Experience with Physical AI workflows (data collection, simulation, deployment).
• Ability to lead delivery without direct reporting line.

Responsibilities

• Own manipulation use cases from definition through demonstration.
• Define capabilities and measurable success criteria, validate differentiation, and set platform architecture and integration priorities.
• Turn ambiguous R&D goals into executable plans.
• Identify unknowns, run focused experiments to reduce risk, document trade-offs.
• Lead delivery across engineers with varied experience.
• Break milestones into scoped work with ownership and dependencies; manage blockers and risks.
• Design, implement, and review core software in C++ and Python.
• Evolve the ROS 2-based stack and integrate hardware, sensing, control, simulation, and learned policies.
• Establish automated tests, CI, hardware‑in‑the‑loop validation, observability, and release practices.
