Job summary

The Port Authority of New York and New Jersey seeks a Principal Risk Analyst to oversee daily risk financing operations, mentor analysts, and ensure effective insurance placements and contractual risk transfer for third‑party agreements. You will coordinate scopes, support renewals, and collaborate with claims, legal, safety, and brokers to strengthen risk management practices.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in risk management, finance, economics, business, law or a related field with 10+ years in contractual risk analysis.
• Expertise in construction risk, captives, complex risk structures and public infrastructure insurance.
• Experience drafting and reviewing insurance and indemnification clauses.
• Strong written and verbal communication for diverse audiences including executives.
• Ability to evaluate insurance coverage and recommend enhancements.
• Proven ability to manage multiple projects under tight deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Mentor a team of risk analysts in scope of work, contract review, risk assessment and operational requirements.
• Review scopes of work and contracts to identify liability exposure and advise on risk transfer and insurance language.
• Assist in procuring brokerage services and prepare memos for leadership and Board discussions.
• Oversee insurance renewal process and underwriting disclosures for insurers/reinsurers.
• Collaborate across departments, including claims, legal, safety, and brokers, to strengthen risk management.
• Monitor compliance with internal policies and regulatory requirements.
