Job summary

Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems is seeking a Principal RF Payload Engineer to join our team in Melbourne, FL. The role focuses on integrating airborne communications, developing requirements, and leading subsystem testing and documentation to meet mission objectives.

Qualified candidates will have a STEM degree (Bachelor’s with 5+ years or Master’s with 3 years) and an active DoD Secret clearance with the ability to obtain Top-Secret clearance. Relocation assistance may be available.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in STEM with 5+ years of related professional/military engineering experience OR Master’s degree with 3 years of related experience.
• Active DoD Secret clearance that is in-scope and ability to obtain Top-Secret clearance.
• Relocation assistance may be available.

Responsibilities

• Integrate airborne communications systems and components to enable real-time coordination and reliable communication between ground, air, space and naval forces.
• Develop, analyze, mature and implement requirements.
• Design, analyze, configure, test, document and troubleshoot communications systems.
• Document designs using detailed schematics, diagrams and specifications.
• Collaborate with engineers and program stakeholders to integrate LOS and BLOS subsystems to meet platform mission objectives.
• Provide technical management of program partners and suppliers, including development, acquisition, acceptance, qualification, system integration and test support.
• Perform informal and formal testing of subsystem requirements.
• Demonstrate leadership, raise concerns and risks to leadership, and maintain technical rigor.

Education

Bachelor’s degree in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics) from an accredited university

Master’s degree in STEM from an accredited university
