Overview

SUMMARY: Design, develop, modify, and evaluate electronic parts, components, or integrated circuitry for electronic equipment and hardware systems. Determine design approaches, analyze equipment, conduct tests, evaluate results, select components based on specifications and reliability, review vendor capabilities, and work on complex projects.

Responsibilities
  1. Design electrical circuits, components, and microwave assemblies, including modeling, selection, and layout; perform analysis and generate proposals.
  2. Create drawings, produce prototypes, and collaborate on specifications and manufacturing requirements.
  3. Test, tune, debug, and optimize prototype circuits; write test procedures.
  4. Mentor less experienced engineers and guide technicians in testing and optimization.
  5. Coordinate project schedules, support proposals, and evaluate customer requirements.
  6. Support production engineering, including fixture design and process evaluation.
  7. Participate in safety training, maintain a safe workspace, and promote 5S and Lean/Six Sigma initiatives.
  8. Collaborate in team meetings and support other duties as assigned.
Qualifications

MINIMUM:

  • Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering or related field.
  • At least 8 years of experience in RF/Microwave sub-systems design, testing, and troubleshooting, with proficiency in Microwave Office or ADS, and HFSS.
  • Knowledge of component design including amplifiers, filters, mixers, and switches, and experience with relevant test equipment.
  • Eligibility to access controlled US technology and ability to obtain a security clearance.

PREFERRED:

  • BSEE and 11+ years of experience.
  • Proposal development experience.
  • Leadership experience managing a team of engineers.
  • Mastery of AutoCAD and microwave design software.
  • Experience with SAP and CAD/CAE tools.
  • Prior aerospace and defense industry experience.
  • Active security clearance.

Salary Range: $140,325 - $241,548 annually (San Diego). Benefits include health insurance, 401K, paid holidays, and more.
