Job summary

Tech Army, LLC in Aiken, SC is seeking a senior Quality Control professional to supervise and direct QC engineers performing inspections and surveillance on project work and maintenance activities.

The role includes coordinating with construction management, establishing priorities, resolving complex problems, and ensuring adherence to site specifications; ASME NQA-1 background and DOE clearance are preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline with 8–10 years of practical experience in construction inspection.
• Associate's degree with 10–12 years of practical experience would be considered equivalent.
• High school diploma with 12–16 years of practical experience would be considered equivalent.
• Well-developed organizational and supervisory skills and good communication talents are required.
• Certification in areas of responsibility with ongoing programmatic training per the project quality program.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and direct quality control engineers assigned to inspections and surveillance in support of project work and maintenance activities.
• Provide quality control support to construction management and direct personnel to implement quality requirements and to accurately status the results.
• Establish priorities which support construction/operations needs.
• Resolve complex problems which develop during the implementation of quality activities by coordinating with internal and external departments.
• Provide leadership which inspires efficient performance of assignments, safe work habits, timely exchange of information and each individual's commitment to site policies.
• Participate in contract discussions related to quality activities.
• Prepare comprehensive status reports for construction quality activities.
• Review and approve subcontractors quality procedures and monitor their adherence to those procedures.
• Coordinate the activities of assigned quality control engineers and with other construction departments to ensure that construction is in compliance with site specifications and standards.
• Prepare quality procedures to ensure proper inspection, testing and surveillance activities are being performed.
• Provide effective quality training programs and ensure assigned personnel are qualified to perform assigned tasks.
• Prepare performance evaluations of assigned personnel.
• Develop, revise, and perform peer reviews of Quality Control Inspection Plans related to electrical and I&C, in accordance with Design Output documents, Codes, and Standards.
• Perform field related inspections in accordance with Quality Control Inspection Plans.
• Document inspection results on applicable inspection records and issue NonConformance reports as required.
• Review product and process compliance with all specified drawings, specifications, and other requirements through inspection and/or review of supplied materials and equipment.
