Spectra Tech, Inc. is seeking a senior quality control leader to supervise QC engineers, implement inspection plans, and ensure construction compliance with project standards. The role requires extensive field QC experience, DOE/NQA-1 familiarity, and strong leadership in a high-stakes environment.
The candidate will coordinate with multiple departments, prepare comprehensive status reports, and contribute to training and continuous improvement of quality programs on-site.
Supervise and direct quality control engineers assigned to perform inspections and surveillance in support of project work and/or maintenance activities. Provide quality control support to construction management and direct personnel to implement quality requirements and to accurately status the results. Establish priorities which support construction/operations needs. Resolve complex problems which develop during the implementation of quality activities by coordinating with internal and external departments. Provide leadership which inspires efficient performance of assignments, safe work habits, timely exchange of information and each individuals' commitment to site policies. Participate in contract discussions relating to quality activities. Prepare comprehensive status reports for construction quality activities. Review and approve subcontractors quality procedures and monitor their adherence to those procedures. Coordinate the activities of assigned quality control engineers and with other construction departments to ensure that construction is in compliance with site specifications and standards. Prepare quality procedures to ensure proper inspection, testing and surveillance activities are being performed. Provide effective quality training programs and ensure assigned personnel are qualified to perform assigned tasks. Prepare performance evaluations of assigned personnel.
Education: Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline and at least 8 - 10 years of practical experience in construction inspection or related areas. An Associate's degree and 10 - 12 years of practical experience would be considered equivalent. A high school diploma and 12 - 16 years of practical experience would also be considered equivalent. Well developed organizational and supervisory skills and good communication talents are required. Certification in areas of responsibility are required with ongoing programmatic training per the requirements of the project quality program.
Area Security Access: Candidate must be able to obtain and maintain a DOE "Q" security clearance. An active DOE clearance is not initially required to perform assigned duties. After award, the selected candidate will be notified when to apply for a clearance based on specific work assignments.
Candidates who have possessed an active DOE clearance (L or Q) within the past two (2) years are preferred.
