SWCA Environmental Consultants seeks a Principal Project Manager – Energy Permitting to lead complex permitting and environmental review across the MWNE subregion. You will guide regulatory processes, mentor teams, and build strong client relationships to deliver high-quality projects.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Biology, Ecology, Environmental Engineering, Planning, Natural Resources, or related field.
• Ten years of environmental permitting, compliance, or natural resources consulting experience.
• Five+ years managing complex projects.
• Experience leading federal, state, Tribal, and local permitting for energy, infrastructure, or development projects.
• Strong leadership and client-management skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead energy permitting efforts for energy generation, transmission, storage, and related infrastructure in the MWNE subregion.
• Develop permitting strategies and oversee technical documentation for reviews and approvals.
• Provide regulatory guidance across federal, state, and local requirements.
• Coordinate with regulatory agencies, clients, and stakeholders to facilitate approvals.
• Mentor staff and foster collaboration to strengthen project outcomes.
• Support business development and expansion of SWCA's energy permitting practice.
