Job summary

Worley Consulting in the United States seeks a Senior Environmental Permitting Specialist to lead environmental permitting, regulatory compliance and strategy for complex energy and infrastructure projects.

You will guide projects across LNG, pipelines, refining, chemicals and resources, collaborating with engineering and project teams to deliver permitting solutions that meet regulatory requirements, schedules and budget while developing client relationships and pursuing growth opportunities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Environmental Science, Environmental Planning or related discipline.
• Typically 10–20 years of progressive environmental consulting, energy, engineering or regulatory experience.
• Strong knowledge of U.S. federal, state and local environmental permitting frameworks (NEPA, CEQA, FERC).
• Experience delivering environmental permitting and compliance programs for energy or infrastructure projects.
• Strong air quality permitting expertise and SPCC planning experience.
• Familiarity with USEPA, FERC, USACE and state/local authorities.
• Experience supporting business development, including proposals and budgeting.
• Excellent technical writing and cross-disciplinary collaboration skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead and deliver environmental permitting, regulatory and compliance solutions for energy, chemicals and resources projects.
• Develop practical permitting strategies considering regulatory requirements, schedules and client objectives.
• Guide air quality permitting and SPCC planning deliverables.
• Coordinate with engineering, project management and environmental teams to integrate requirements into planning and delivery.
• Engage directly with agencies and stakeholders to ensure regulatory alignment and project success.
• Mentor junior staff and support business development activities.
