Job summary

The Clearing, Inc. seeks a Project Leader at the Principal Consultant level to oversee a DoD client engagement in Arlington, VA.

You will lead medium to large projects, mentor consultants, and drive business growth while maintaining client satisfaction and high-quality deliverables. Qualified candidates have a Top Secret clearance (active within 2 years), a Bachelor's degree, 8+ years in consulting or services, and strong leadership, communication, and strategic capabilities.

Qualifications

• Active Top Secret Clearance (or active within the past two years).
• Bachelor's degree required.
• 8+ years of experience, including prior consulting/services firm experience.
• Proven success leading medium-scale, complex projects, including client relationship management, team leadership, and talent development responsibilities.
• Strong critical thinking and problem solving with attention to detail, organization, and time management.
• Exceptional communication skills, including strong business writing; strategic communications a plus.
• Willing and able to work onsite in Arlington, Virginia.
• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without visa sponsorship.
• Desired: PMP and/or Change Management certification (e.g., Prosci).

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage a complex, medium-sized project, ensuring timely, on-budget delivery.
• Own accountability for project outcomes and client satisfaction, building trust-based relationships.
• Oversee project financials and guide budget management to support profitability.
• Design and implement short- and long-term project plans aligned with client needs and objectives.
• Produce high-quality, client-facing deliverables with strong attention to detail and review teammates' work.
• Facilitate client meetings to achieve desired outcomes.
• Navigate team/client dynamics to drive high performance.
• Provide clear team direction and performance management.
• Lead high-impact proposals with mentoring in capture strategy and proposal development.
• Drive market visibility via external thought leadership and events.
• Lead and support business growth, closing new opportunities and managing capture/proposal lifecycle.
• Advance methodologies and scalable solution packages across delivery, marketing, and sales.
