Job summary

Northrop Grumman's Space Sector in Magna, UT is seeking a Production Planner (Level 2) or Principal Production Planner (Level 3) to join our team. You will coordinate last mile material movement, make items, and schedule manufacturing orders to support operations.

You will use Costpoint and Sync for MRP, interface with planning and quality control, and ensure materials are available when needed. Strong communication and cross-department collaboration are essential.

Qualifications

• HS diploma with 6 years experience in operations, operations management, process manufacturing, or engineering support, or a BS with 2 years experience, or a MS degree.
• Must be able to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government security clearance.
• Excellent computer skills and ability to become an expert in MRP systems, Shop Floor software, and document/engineering management software.
• Excellent writing and communication skills.
• Knowledge of manufacturing processes and quality controls.
• Excellent productivity and organizational skills.
• Ability to analyze complex problems and develop solutions.
• Ability to prioritize multiple responsibilities and execute quickly with high quality.
• Experience working with others to improve processes and efficiencies.

Responsibilities

• Create, issue, manage, and maintain manufacturing orders to control and support production on the manufacturing floor.
• Utilize and manage MRP systems (Costpoint and Sync) to ensure a controlled flow of approved materials to meet production schedules.
• Interface with Materials Planning and Receiving Quality Control to ensure parts are in inventory in time to support the production plan.
• Ensure materials needed for manufacturing orders are picked and delivered to point of use and consumed timely in the MRP system.
• Advise management on status of work in progress, material availability, and potential production problems.
• Schedule and expedite movement of materials by move orders, stock transfers, and shipping requests through restricted areas.
• Seek process and planning feedback from operations and incorporate into planning where possible.
• Reconcile inventory problems by collaborating with operations, stores, quality control, and other departments.
