Job summary

Akamai Technologies, Inc. is seeking a Principal Product Manager to define the multi-year vision for Akamai Cloud developer tooling, APIs, and infrastructure integrations.

You will lead strategy and execution for how developers interact with Akamai Cloud and shape APIs, CLI, SDKs, and Terraform providers across enterprise platforms. You will partner with engineering on API design, governance, and OpenAPI standards, while advancing AI-first workflows and Model Context Protocol endpoints to unify

Qualifications

• 15 years of relevant experience and a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field
• Experience designing REST, gRPC, or GraphQL APIs and delivering developer tools like CLIs, SDKs, and Terraform providers
• Expertise in API Gateway architectures, traffic management, and OAuth2/mTLS authentication
• Proven track record creating mature developer platforms and managing breaking-change lifecycles
• Familiarity with LLM function calling, AI agent frameworks, and Model Context Protocol
• Knowledge of open-source developer ecosystems, IaC automation, and cloud platforms

Responsibilities

• Define the multi-year vision and execution roadmap for Akamai Cloud developer tooling
• Modernize brownfield API paths while improving API quality, consistency, and platform performance
• Pioneer next-generation developer interfaces for AI agents and LLM-driven workflows using Model Context Protocol endpoints
• Collaborate with engineering on API design guidelines, OpenAPI standards, schema governance, and API Gateway capabilities
• Oversee development of official developer tools including CLI, SDKs, and Infrastructure as Code providers
• Influence and unify the Developer Experience across platforms for consistency and efficiency
