Job summary

Akamai Technologies, Inc. seeks a Principal Product Manager to shape the multi-year strategy for Akamai Cloud developer tooling and APIs.

You will lead the vision, roadmap, and execution, elevating enterprise API paths and introducing AI-first workflows for developers across the Akamai Cloud. You will collaborate with engineering on API standards, governance, and tooling like CLI, SDKs, and Terraform providers while driving consistency across platforms.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field or equivalent experience.
• 15 years of relevant experience.
• Experience designing REST, gRPC, or GraphQL APIs.
• Delivery of developer tools like CLIs, SDKs, and Terraform providers.
• Familiarity with API gateway architectures and authentication protocols (OAuth2, mTLS).

Responsibilities

• Crafting and driving the multi-year vision and roadmap for Akamai Cloud developer tooling.
• Modernizing enterprise API paths while improving API quality and platform performance.
• Pioneering AI-first workflows using Model Context Protocol endpoints.
• Collaborating on API design guidelines, OpenAPI standards, schema governance, and API Gateway capabilities.
• Overseeing official developer tools including CLI, SDKs, and IaC providers.
• Unifying the Developer Experience across platforms for consistency and efficiency.
