Job summary

Akamai Technologies, Inc. is seeking a Principal Product Manager to shape the multi-year strategy for Akamai Cloud developer tooling and AI-first workflows. You will lead the vision, align API design with OpenAPI standards, and drive tools like CLIs, SDKs, and Terraform providers across enterprise platforms.

You will partner with engineering to modernize API paths, ensure high-quality APIs, and unify the developer experience across Akamai Cloud, Edge, and related platforms.

Qualifications

• 15+ years of relevant experience and a CS degree or equivalent.
• Experience designing REST, gRPC, or GraphQL APIs and delivering developer tools (CLIs, SDKs, Terraform providers).
• Expertise in API Gateway architectures, traffic management, and OAuth2/mTLS.
• Proven track record evolving mature developer platforms and managing breaking changes.
• Familiar with LLM function calling, AI agent frameworks, and Model Context Protocol.
• Knowledge of open-source developer ecosystems, IaC automation communities, and cloud platforms.

Responsibilities

• Craft and drive the multi-year vision, strategy, and roadmap for Akamai Cloud developer tooling.
• Modernize API paths while improving API quality, consistency, and platform performance.
• Pioneer next-gen developer interfaces for AI agents and LLM-driven workflows.
• Collaborate with engineering on API design guidelines, OpenAPI standards, and schema governance.
• Oversee development of official developer tools including CLI, SDKs, and Terraform providers.
• Influence Developer Experience strategy across platforms for consistency and efficiency.
