Job summary

Upstart is seeking a Principal Product Manager for the Capital Platform to own strategy and execution for complex platform initiatives. You will lead multi-quarter programs across product, engineering, finance, and compliance to deliver scalable, reusable infrastructure for capital partners.

This senior IC role prioritizes data-driven decisions, architecture collaboration, and cross-team alignment to enable lenders and investors to integrate with Upstart at scale.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of product management experience with multi-quarter initiatives.
• Proven track record designing and shipping enterprise platforms.
• Experience with complex B2B or B2B2C workflows (onboarding, configuration, payments, compliance, reporting).
• Ability to operate in regulated, high-reliability environments.
• Strong technical fluency and collaboration with engineering on architecture.

Responsibilities

• Own strategy, roadmap, and execution for a capital platform problem space with material business impact.
• Lead multi-quarter cross-team initiatives with ambiguity.
• Design scalable platform capabilities for diverse capital partners.
• Partner with engineering on architecture and long-term evolution of platforms.
• Influence adjacent teams to meet partner needs across products.
• Use data and domain knowledge to make high-conviction product decisions.
