To support our teams who build great products and contribute to our growth, we’re seeking a Principal Process Engineer – Thermoplastic Injection Molding in Libertyville, IL.

Reporting to the Process Engineering Manager, the Principal Process Engineer will focus on process engineering capabilities aimed at improving cost, quality, and delivery within our manufacturing organization.

Responsibilities include:

1. Recognize manufacturing processes, technologies, techniques, and products.
2. Define, implement, and evaluate designs and processes for manufacturability.
3. Identify root causes of failures in manufacturing processes, independently or with other engineers.
4. Participate in daily production activities and solve daily issues effectively.
5. Prepare justifications, purchase, and implement capital equipment for production.
6. Oversee new process equipment production.
7. Manage engineering change orders (ECOs).
8. Establish robust, repeatable, and reproducible process parameters.
9. Develop and implement process control methodologies.
10. Troubleshoot process-related issues.
11. Engage in cycle time and process improvement activities.
12. Evaluate and select engineered materials.
13. Implement statistical process research on new and existing products.
14. Enhance safety, productivity, and efficiency.
15. Improve manufacturing techniques and throughput.
16. Develop and maintain process documentation.
17. Coordinate with production for new process implementation and transfer.
18. Assist in training personnel during new technology transfers.
19. Provide equipment maintenance and repair support as needed.

Qualifications:

• 10-15 years’ experience in process development (IQ, OQ, PQ), tooling, and Scientific Molding.
• Experience in Thermoplastic Injection Molding.
• Attention to detail in manufacturing and injection molding processes.
• Experience in Class 7 or 8 Cleanrooms (preferred).
• Degree or equivalent training in plastics/injection molding.
• Data analysis skills using Excel, Minitab, or similar platforms (preferred).
