Job description

Position:

As a Senior Thermoplastics Design Engineer, you'll report to a VP and be responsible for both product design and product development for a leading thermoplastics manufacturer. This person would be working on new and existing product design, working with contract manufacturing organizations across the U.S. to help launch the product, focusing on and driving sustainability, managing product as well as projects, and eventually building a small team as the growth continues!

Responsibilities:
  • Act as Primary design engineer and lead new and existing product design
  • Assist VP with end to end product development from concept through post-launch support
  • Act as a project manager, perform progress reporting, status updates, scheduling updates, etc.
  • Work with outside vendors, contract manufacturers, clientele, etc.
  • Collaborate with all types and levels of professionals inside and outside the organization
  • Create test plans, develop new test protocols, work with testing partners, etc.
  • Present technical and non-technical results
Keys:
  • Prior experience with plastics, injection molding, or structural foam
  • Prior Product design and Product Development specifically plastic part design experience
  • Strong working experience with 3D AutoCAD, Solidworks, etc.
  • Prior sustainability experience
  • Ability to work both at the corporate and plant levels
  • Ability to work with all levels of people and personalities in order to get to the common goal
  • Self-starter who can work independently but as a team as well
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree, Master's degree is a plus
  • Prior experience with plastics part design, injection molding, injection foam, etc.
  • Prior experience with thermoplastic and associated tooling
  • Must be able to work out of a home office and travel 20-25% to domestic manufacturing sites
Travel:
  • Mainly travel to PA and the mid-west.
  • Under 25%
Working Conditions:

This position is a 100% work from home remote if not located in/or near Pennsylvania (Greater Philadelphia area).

Compensation:

A competitive compensation package will be available for this position including a base salary, nice bonus program upwards of 20-30%+, 100% paid medical benefits, dental, vision, 401K, vacation and sick time, paid holidays, etc.
