Helion Energy is seeking a Principal Power Electronics Engineer to own the most complex high-energy electronic challenges and steer the technical direction for Polaris and Orion programs. You will define architectures, validate hardware, and mentor engineers as we pursue the world\'s first fusion power plant.

Based in Everett, WA, this full-time role requires a deep expertise in pulsed power, HV design, and power conversion, with a track record of delivering critical, end-to-end solutions for

Qualifications

• Requires degree in Electrical Engineering or related field, or equivalent experience.
• Extensive power electronics design experience (typically 12+ years).
• Experience owning complex, under-defined electrical systems end-to-end and setting technical direction.

Responsibilities

• Own the most complex, high-impact power electronics problems across pulsed power, power conversion, and control/protection of high-energy systems.
• Set technical direction and standards for architectures, design methods, and validation.
• Generate and negotiate org/program requirements and shape roadmaps toward Orion and mass production.
• Be the go-to technical authority in core areas (pulsed power, HV design, power conversion).
• Mentor senior engineers, lead design reviews, and elevate team technical risk awareness.
