Job summary

PermitFlow is hiring a Principal Engineer to shape the architecture and platform to serve agents and people alike. You will own patterns, domain abstractions, and the monorepo, collaborating across infrastructure, shared services, and product code.

This role reports to the VP of Engineering and aims to double organizational output while raising quality. The ideal candidate has deep code architecture expertise, platform engineering background, and a track record of leading migrations across large

Qualifications

• Experience owning the architecture of a large, multi-team codebase.
• Strong platform and infrastructure depth including CI/CD and observability.
• Ability to work across the stack from data model to UI as a product engineer.
• Extensive experience with agent-first development and AI coding agents.

Responsibilities

• Own the architecture of our codebase and define patterns and module boundaries.
• Design the monorepo for agents with clear package ownership and build graph conventions.
• Build the platform substrate with shared services and observability.
• Own the agentic SDLC and define production readiness for agent-driven work.
• Scale verification with AI-assisted code review, tests, and CI gates.
• Put agents to work by automating ticket triage, migrations, and fixes from incidents.
