Job summary

Pearson is modernizing its content platform into shared services. You will lead hands-on engineering across UI, workflows, AI, and backend services. You’ll own designs, code on the critical path, and drive engineering decisions with leadership.

You will work across Pearson’s platform on migrations, security, and scalable infrastructure, collaborating with managers, architects, and product teams. A senior level with 12+ years in production software is expected.

Qualifications

12+ years building and operating production software.
Led a re-platforming or legacy migration of a production system with active users and data.
Led the design and delivery of technically complex, user-facing systems.
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience.

Responsibilities

Own the technical plan and delivery for multiple tracks from design through launch.
Migrate large volumes of content and data with integrity across products.
Define shared capabilities and clean APIs for reuse.
Provide costed views of technical debt and prioritize fixes.
Serve as technical point of contact during incidents with business impact.
Ensure security, stability, and disaster recovery for owned apps.
Set and promote design standards, tooling, reliability, and observability.
