Job summary

Apex is seeking a Principal Planner to lead land development and comprehensive planning efforts across diverse municipal and development projects in Florida. You will guide policy objectives, coordinate with clients, engineers, and architects, and ensure plans meet zoning and statutory requirements.

The role emphasizes project leadership, proposing and managing complex plans, and mentoring staff while participating in professional societies.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of experience in related field.
• Bachelor's Degree in Planning, Landscape Architecture, Public Administration, Business Administration or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Confer with clients, engineering personnel, and Architects on policy objectives or land development program.
• Research, compile and analyze data on site conditions, soils, zoning requirements and development standards for feasibility studies and plans.
• Prepare land development plans considering vegetation, structures, roads, utilities, landscaping and coordinate features.
• Prepare Comprehensive Plans, Plan amendments, and Updates per Florida Statutes.
• Make presentations to municipal officials regarding planning and development projects.
• Assist with review of site plans, zoning applications, and plan amendments.
• Prepare proposals, manage projects, budgets and schedules; negotiate changes and invoice per contract terms.
• Maintain client and vendor contacts; discuss current projects and identify new opportunities.
• Develop staff and mentor team on industry knowledge and processes.
• Attend workshops and stay updated with professional publications.

Education
