Job summary

Worldpay, LLC is seeking a Principal PHP/Phalcon Software Engineer to design, develop, and maintain our payment API and related services using Phalcon. You will work with a global engineering team to deliver scalable, secure API solutions that power high-volume payments.

The role requires 10+ years of software engineering experience, strong PHP and Phalcon skills, and experience with RESTful APIs and cloud services.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, software engineering, or related field or equivalent experience.
• 10+ years of relevant software engineering experience.
• Proven experience as a Phalcon or PHP developer with willingness to learn Phalcon.
• Proficiency in PHP and relational databases (PostgreSQL or equivalent).
• Familiarity with MVC architecture and Phalcon MVC.
• Experience with RESTful API development and cloud services (AWS, Azure).
• Strong problem-solving and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain our payment API and services using Phalcon PHP.
• Ensure high performance, security, and scalability of API solutions.
• Create technical documentation and maintain code quality with best practices.
• Write tests, debug, and optimize database queries for performance.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality APIs.
