Are you a software engineer with deep experience building and supporting payment systems that process real money at scale?
We’re looking for a Senior Payments Engineer to join our Engineering team and help build, enhance, and modernize a critical payments platform serving local governments across online portals, IVR, kiosks, POS terminals, cashiering, and recurring autopay.
This is not a generalist software engineering role. We’re looking for someone who understands the payment lifecycle, gateway integrations, tokenization, settlement, reconciliation, and PCI DSS — and who enjoys being deeply hands‑on. Approximately 75–85% of the role is hands‑on engineering.
You’ll help design and maintain payment systems with security and compliance built in, including:
AI is part of the expected engineering workflow. You’ll use tools such as GitHub Copilot, Claude Code, Cursor, and equivalent agentic tools for implementation, integration, testing, documentation, and modernization — while following strict data‑handling controls appropriate for payment systems.
If you're passionate about payments, financial technology, security, and solving high‑stakes engineering problems, this is an opportunity to work on systems where correctness truly matters.
Real money. Real transactions. Real engineering challenges.
