Job summary

airSlate is seeking a Team Lead PHP Engineer to join the Payments Systems core team. You will design and implement the payments and billing codebase, lead gateway integrations, and optimize systems for reliability and security.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of backend development experience with ownership of features end-to-end.
• 1–2+ years leading or mentoring a small team (tech lead / team lead).
• Strong PHP skills with Yii2 and/or Laravel frameworks.
• Relational databases experience (MySQL and/or PostgreSQL).
• Git and Docker expertise; CI/CD familiarity.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement payments systems and billing codebase; contribute to technical direction.
• Lead end-to-end gateway integrations: scope, build, analyze, deliver verdict.
• Optimize payment systems for reliability, performance, and security.
• Mentor team members; conduct 1:1s and PDPs; keep team aligned.
• Maintain production payments and handle on‑duty rotation support.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with Product and Growth on payment initiatives.
• Apply AI-assisted development practices where relevant.
