Job summary

Canva is seeking an experienced technologist to lead external platform efforts within the Ecosystem team. You will orchestrate partner engagements, guide API and platform direction, and ensure engineering decisions are grounded in runnable code.

Ideal candidates bring 10+ years across partner, platform, and product domains; deep AI stack knowledge; and the ability to translate complex tradeoffs into concrete actions with external developers.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of experience at the seam between partner engineering, platform engineering, and product.
• Built developer platforms with production code used by external developers.
• Able to move between roadmap discussions, system design, and partner negotiations.
• Brings prototype or sample code to hard conversations without overpromising.
• Deep technical expertise in modern AI platform stacks (MCP, API design, agentic capabilities).

Responsibilities

• Drive decisions and alignment across Partners and Canva engineering.
• Set technical direction for Canva's external platform surface.
• Ground partner conversations in working code with runnable artifacts.
• Drive product-line engineering across MCP, REST APIs, Apps-in-Canva, and middleware PaaS.
• Carry platform direction outward early within Ecosystem leadership and to partners.
