Job summary

Kairos Power in Alameda, CA is seeking a Senior Engineer IC&E Systems Design Engineer to lead hands‑on hardware and system design for safety‑critical instrumentation and control systems of an advanced nuclear plant. You will design analog and digital circuits, review schematics, and work with lab equipment to validate hardware.

You will collaborate with an integrated design team, ensure traceability, develop test plans, and contribute to protective system design under rigorous nuclear standards

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical or related field required.
• Experience in regulated or high‑reliability environments preferred.
• 6 years of relevant engineering experience involving electronic hardware design.
• Proficiency in analog and digital circuit design.
• Experience with schematic capture and PCB tools.
• Experience with lab instrumentation and debugging.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop analog and digital circuits for IC&E systems.
• Create and review schematics and PCB layouts.
• Support system architecture development and hardware integration.
• Develop test plans and qualification testing.
• Prototyping, integration and testing.
• Troubleshoot hardware prototypes and analyze test data.
• Ensure safety-critical design with fault tolerance and fail-safe concepts.
