Job summary
Arrcus in San Jose, CA is seeking a Principal Engineer to own the development of network routing and switching protocols. You will design, implement, and optimize large-scale control planes (BGP/OSPF/ISIS, LDP/MPLS), SR-MPLS and SRv6, and related L2/L3 technologies.
This is a senior, hands-on role requiring extensive C/C++/Go/Python work and a track record of shipping scalable software. Qualifications include BS/MS/PhD in CS/CE, 16+ years of experience, and ability to mentor others.
Qualifications
- 16+ years of hands-on development experience.
- Experience with large-scale control plane protocols – BGP, OSPF, ISIS, LDP MPLS.
- Experience with L2 technologies – STP, PVST, MSTP.
- Experience with TCP/IP, RIB, FIB, BFD, IPC, Interfaces, Events.
- Experience with SR-MPLS, SRv6, VxLAN, Overlay Technologies.
Responsibilities
- Triage and resolve internal and customer issues.
- Write feature specs and detailed designs.
- Implement improvements and features individually or in teams.
- Evaluate and integrate third-party libraries.
- Peer review of specs, code, test plans, and docs.
- Drive quality and scaling of shipping products.
