Arrcus Inc. in San Jose, CA seeks a Principal Engineer for Network Infrastructure Software Development to lead design and delivery of high-performance networking features. You will influence architecture, collaborate with product teams, and mentor engineers while shaping scalable solutions.

The role emphasizes deep systems programming in C/C++/Go, Linux internals, and hands-on cloud/virtualization expertise in a fast-growing startup environment.

Qualifications

• 15+ years of hands-on development experience in networking/systems software.
• Proven ability to write high-quality C/C++/Go/Python code.
• Experience with Linux kernel, memory management and OS internals.
• Familiarity with TCP/IP, BGP/OSPF/ISIS, IPsec/TLS/MACsec.
• Strong background in containers, VMs and orchestration with Kubernetes and Docker.

Responsibilities

• Write Feature Spec covering requirements and design.
• Implement improvements and features individually or in teams.
• Triaging and resolving internal and customer issues.
• Evaluate and integrate third-party libraries.
• Peer review of specs, code, tests, and docs.
• Drive performance and scalability improvements.
• Mentor new hires and help with onboarding.
• Coordinate with product teams on new requirements.
• Plan, schedule, and report project status to customers.
