Job summary

Gotham Technology Group in New York is seeking a Senior Network Platform Engineer to own major parts of a global network platform for a fast-paced trading environment.

You will design leaf-spine datacenter fabrics, implement EVPN/VXLAN with BGP, automate provisioning with Python, and collaborate with security and various infrastructure teams to ensure low latency and reliability across private data centers, cloud edges, and market connectivity.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience in CS/Engineering or related field.
• 5+ years in network/infrastructure/platform engineering in enterprise/cloud/financial services environments.
• Deep expertise in modern IP networking: BGP, OSPF, EVPN/VXLAN, multicast, QoS, ECMP.
• Strong background in datacenter networking: leaf-spine fabrics and high-performance Ethernet.
• Hands-on automation experience with Python, APIs, Git, and tooling like Ansible or Terraform.

Responsibilities

• Engineer the platform: build and operate our global network across data centers, cloud, internet edge, and market connectivity.
• Design modern fabrics: architect leaf-spine datacenters with EVPN/VXLAN and BGP for fast convergence at scale.
• Chase performance: use telemetry and testing to reduce latency and improve resiliency.
• Automate everything: build provisioning, configuration, validation, and monitoring tooling in Python.
• Own the architecture: take ownership of WAN, DNS, load balancing, DDoS protection, and network observability.
• Build security in: partner with Security to implement segmentation and encrypted transport.
• Collaborate across teams: work with Linux/Windows/Data Center/Developer Tools teams to integrate with compute/storage/app platforms.
• Stay ahead of the curve: evaluate emerging technologies for production use.
• Support what you build: participate in on-call rotation and drive reliability improvements.
