Job summary

Arrcus in San Jose, CA, is seeking a Network Infrastructure Software Development - Principal Engineer to design and lead core networking features.

You will write specs, implement enhancements, review code, and mentor engineers while driving performance, scale, and reliability across multi-cloud platforms.

Network Infrastructure Software Development- Principal Engineer

Responsibilities

• Write Feature Spec covering the requirements and detailed design
• Implement improvements and features individually or as part of a team
• Triage, resolve internal and customer found issues
• Evaluate, Integrate third party libraries
• Peer review of Feature Spec, Code, Test Plan and other engineering documents
• Improve performance/scale of existing features/solutions
• Help with interview, onboarding and mentoring of new hires
• Work with customer and product teams to understand new requirements
• Plan, schedule, track and periodically report the project status all the way to customer delivery.
• Lead a team which is implementing features and improvements
• Drive engineering wide initiatives for quality/scaling of shipping products and technologies
• Participate in Architecture and Design of new engineering initiatives
• Intellectual Property (IP) Protection - consider filing patents for Innovations involved in our products
• Industry engagements on technical level - papers, blogs, talks, standards delivery

Education/Qualifications

• BS/MS/PhD in Computer Engineering/Computer Science or equivalent degree
• Ability to write high-quality C/C++/Go/Python code
• Expert in using AI tools for development, review and building shareable tools
• 15+ years of relevant hands-on development experience in some of the following technologies
• Linux OS internals, Kernel, memory management
• Networking - TCP/IP, Routing protocols (BGP/OSPF/ISIS) and security protocols (IPSEC/TLS/MACsec)
• High Availability and ISSU
• Containers, Virtual Machines (VM).
• Orchestration frameworks like Kubernetes, Docker, KVM
• Hands on experience with one or more of the following public cloud

platforms: AWS, Azure, GCP, OCI

Proficiency in DevOps tools like Terraform, Helm

Bonus

Prior work experience in a startup or venture-backed company is a big plus.
