Job summary

General Dynamics - IT is seeking an experienced Network Engineer to design, implement, maintain, and troubleshoot large-scale network systems. You will optimize performance, security, and reliability for mission-critical government programs from Albuquerque, NM.

Responsibilities include monitoring, capacity planning, vendor coordination, and detailed documentation. A DOE Q or TS clearance is required, with extensive experience in routers, switches, firewalls, and secure networking best practices.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required in IT/CS or related field.
• 10+ years of professional network engineering experience.
• DOE Q or TS security clearance required.
• Deep knowledge of routers, switches, firewalls, wireless tech, and network design.
• Proficiency with TCP/IP, VLAN, VPN, OSPF, and BGP.
• Strong network security and hardening practices.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, maintain, and troubleshoot complex network systems.
• Monitor and troubleshoot issues; perform root-cause analysis.
• Analyze traffic patterns; provide capacity planning solutions.
• Coordinate with vendors for issue resolution.
• Configure systems including hardware, OS, and platform specs.
• Evaluate and test network products and technologies.
• Provide oversight across LAN/MAN/WAN operations and security.
• Contribute to policy discussions on standards and budgets.
• Conduct testing and optimization of network components.
• Identify opportunities to optimize and secure performance.
• Create and maintain detailed network documentation.
