Job summary

Freedom Technology Solutions Group seeks a motivated Principal Network Engineer in Chantilly, VA to design, implement, secure, and sustain complex enterprise networks supporting critical missions. You will collaborate across teams and customers to deliver resilient, highly available network solutions with strong telemetry and automation.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of cybersecurity or network engineering experience.
• BGP and OSPF routing knowledge.
• Experience with network virtualization (EVPN-VXLAN, MPLS).
• Security perimeter defenses including load balancers and firewalls.
• Experience with HTTPS, mutual TLS, and web traffic troubleshooting.
• Windows and Linux OS security practices and networking basics.
• Proficient with SNMP monitoring tools and telemetry.

Responsibilities

• Engage with engineers and customers to gather and deliver technical information.
• Design, implement, secure, and sustain complex enterprise networks.
• Develop monitoring and alerting strategies using SNMP and telemetry.
• Lead complex network troubleshooting across data center, cloud, and hybrid environments.
• Provide Tier 2/3 maintenance and engineering support for network and cybersecurity technologies.
• Support A&A activities for cybersecurity technologies.
• Develop automation for repetitive project tasks and metrics collection.
• Contribute to other project and corporate duties to support missions.

Education

Bachelor’s degree or 4+ years IT experience in lieu of degree

BGP / OSPF
