Job summary

The 250 Network, Charlottesville, VA, seeks an experienced Network Engineer to design, implement, maintain, and optimize our enterprise network infrastructure across multiple locations. You will configure Layer 2/3 switching, routing, and firewall technologies to support reliable connectivity and security.

Ideal candidates have 5+ years with enterprise networks, strong Cisco experience, and familiarity with OSPF/BGP, NAT, VPN, and monitoring tools.

Qualifications

5+ years of experience supporting enterprise network infrastructure.
Strong hands-on experience with enterprise routing and switching.
Firewall administration and network security experience.
Knowledge of TCP/IP, VLANs, STP, OSPF, BGP, ACLs, NAT, and VPN technologies.
Experience troubleshooting complex network issues across large-scale environments.
Strong understanding of network architecture, redundancy, and high-availability designs.
Excellent analytical, troubleshooting, and communication skills.
Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
CCNA certification preferred (CCNP is a plus).
Experience with Cisco networking technologies.
Experience supporting enterprise firewall platforms (Palo Alto, Fortinet, Cisco ASA/Firepower, or Check Point).
Familiarity with network monitoring and management tools.
Experience working in hybrid cloud or data center environments is a plus.

Responsibilities

Design, implement, maintain, and troubleshoot enterprise network infrastructure across multiple locations.
Configure and support Layer 2 and Layer 3 switching and routing technologies in complex enterprise environments.
Manage and maintain firewall technologies, including policy creation, security updates, VPN configuration, and troubleshooting.
Monitor network performance and proactively identify opportunities to improve reliability, scalability, and security.
Respond to network incidents and perform root cause analysis to resolve connectivity and performance issues.
Support LAN, WAN, wireless, VPN, and Internet connectivity across the organization.
Collaborate with systems, security, and infrastructure teams on network-related projects and initiatives.
Plan and execute network upgrades, hardware refreshes, and infrastructure improvements with minimal downtime.
Maintain network documentation, diagrams, standards, and operating procedures.
Participate in on-call support and after-hours maintenance activities as needed.
