Job summary

Northrop Grumman Mission Systems in Woodland Hills, CA seeks a Principal or Senior Principal Navigation Systems Engineer to design and implement model-based navigation software. Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in STEM with required engineering experience or higher.
• Experience implementing Sensor Fusion for Navigation Systems using IMU, GPS, barometers, and other sensors.
• Experience with state-estimation algorithms (EKF, UKF, particle filters) for position, velocity and attitude.
• Experience with noise modeling and covariance tuning.
• Hands-on experience with sensors (accelerometers, gyroscopes, barometers) for navigation.
• Ability to work full-time onsite in Woodland Hills, CA.
• U.S. Citizenship and ability to obtain/maintain a Secret clearance.

Responsibilities

• Analyze navigation performance in laboratory and flight test scenarios.
• Communicate status, issues, and results with program management and customers.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to develop advanced navigation and timing technologies.
• Work with a team of navigation and timing experts in a collaborative environment.
• Present ideas to internal/external groups and represent Northrop Grumman at conferences.
