Job summary

Boston Scientific seeks a Principal Software Engineer – Mobile Applications to lead architecture, design, and delivery of Android and iOS apps for connected medical devices. Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in CS, SWE, or related field.
• 10+ years software engineering, including 8+ years mobile app development.
• 3+ years technical leadership as Principal Engineer/Architect.
• Deep hands-on Android (Kotlin/Java) or iOS (Swift) with cross-platform knowledge.
• Experience with MVVM, Clean Architecture, modularization, and SDK development.
• Experience architecting mobile-to-backend integrations with REST APIs and secure data exchange.
• Collaboration with backend and cloud teams to define interfaces and ensure performance.
• Lead code reviews and establish engineering best practices.
• Experience with BLE device integration and secure communication.
• 2+ years in medical device software or regulated industries with IEC 62304, ISO 13485, FDA design controls.
• Excellent communication and cross-functional coordination.

Responsibilities

• Lead architecture, design, development, and evolution of Android and iOS applications.
• Drive end-to-end mobile-to-backend integration and secure connectivity.
• Provide technical leadership and mentoring to mobile engineers.
• Establish coding standards, design patterns, CI/CD, and best practices.
• Ensure adherence to platform guidelines and accessibility.
• Own the quality and completeness of mobile software deliverables with regulatory controls.
• Oversee device and cloud connectivity including BLE and cloud services.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align system architecture.
• Drive planning, risk mitigation, and milestones from concept to maintenance.
• Remain hands-on with critical design decisions and code reviews.
