Northrop Grumman Space Systems in Redondo Beach, CA, seeks a Principal/ Senior MLI Design Engineer to support the TIP section within Environmental & Specialty Test. You will design Multi-Layer Insulation, create 3D CATIA models, coordinate fabrication and installations, and assist in flight hardware readiness.

The role requires a STEM degree with 5+ years (Level 3) or 9+ years (Level 4), active SCI clearance, willingness to work extended hours and travel, and strong communication skills for

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a STEM field required.
• Active SCI clearance at time of application.
• 5+ years (Level 3) or 9+ years (Level 4) in multi-disciplinary engineering.

Responsibilities

• Define requirements for MLI development across disciplines.
• Create 3D CATIA models of insulation and installation drawings.
• Plan fabrication and coordinate installation to flight readiness.
• Support spacecraft launch activities.
• Act as primary technical contact for the thermal products group.
