Job summary

Amgen is hiring a Principal Machine Learning Engineer to lead enterprise AI/ML architecture and guardrails across cloud and on‑prem environments. You will own production ML/GenAI solutions, end-to-end pipelines, and lightweight apps delivering sub-second insights.

Responsibilities include establishing observability, safe deploys, drift detection, and automated retraining, while mentoring teams and translating domain needs into roadmaps. Strong leadership and advanced ML skills required.

Qualifications

• Doctorate or Master's/ Bachelor's degree with extensive ML experience plus leadership
• Minimum 3–5 years in AI/ML and enterprise software.
• Proven track record building production ML/GenAI solutions.
• Strong command of ML algorithms and evaluation methods.
• Experience selecting/integrating AI SaaS/PaaS offerings and building ML services at scale.

Responsibilities

• Own enterprise AI/ML architecture and guardrails across cloud/on-prem.
• Build production ML/GenAI solutions and lightweight apps with sub-second insights.
• Develop end-to-end ML pipelines from data ingestion to automated promotion using MLOps stacks.
• Create full-stack AI apps with UI components and business logic layers.
• Establish observability, SLOs, and safe deploys with runbooks.
• Lead evaluation, drift detection, and automated retraining processes.
• Architect LLM/RAG with prompt management and safety guardrails.
• Ensure data quality, lineage, and privacy-preserving techniques.
