Job summary

Palo Alto Networks is building a brand-new AIRS initiative to advance AI/ML infrastructure and scalable backend systems. As an AI/ML Engineer, you will lead the development of autonomous security solutions across cloud environments and AI models, joining a team tackling complex problems.

You will work at the intersection of machine learning, cloud security, and AI safety, deploying production-ready ML pipelines while collaborating with product and security partners.

Qualifications

• MS or PhD in CS, AI, ML, or related field with 8+ years of software engineering experience including 3+ years in ML/NLP/AI systems.
• Proficiency in Python with PyTorch or TensorFlow.
• Experience with LLMs/SLMs, prompt engineering, and model fine-tuning.

Responsibilities

• Develop scalable anomaly detection pipelines for monitoring cloud environments and AI agent actions.
• Lead SLM tuning for low-latency, accurate edge-cloud security tasks.
• Drive data classification using ML, NLP, and deep learning on large structured and unstructured datasets to detect threat patterns.
• Partner with product, security, and cloud engineering teams to deploy ML solutions into production.
