The Walt Disney Company is seeking a Principal Machine Learning Engineer in Glendale, CA to define the ML platform architecture across Disney’s News & Entertainment portfolio. You will drive personalization, recommendations, and ML infrastructure at scale, partnering with senior leaders and cross‑org teams.

You will mentor engineers, own incidents, and align ML initiatives with business outcomes, shaping standards for reliability and performance.

Competenze

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information systems, statistics, math, or equivalent.
• 10+ years building and operating ML engineering systems in production environments.
• Deep expertise in data science, deep learning, and statistical methods.
• Experience owning architecture across a significant platform or domain.
• Proven ability to drive ML platform improvements and personalization quality.
• Experience designing backend microservices for large-scale distributed systems using REST.
• Cloud infrastructure expertise, preferably AWS.
• Hands-on experience with Databricks, Spark, Kinesis, and Kafka.
• Leadership in incident response and reliability programs.
• Strong communication and cross-organizational collaboration skills.
• Experience in Agile/Scrum environments.
