Job summary

Thompson Software Solutions seeks a Principal Software Engineer – Mission Systems to design, develop, integrate, and test software enabling core mission capabilities in complex avionics architectures. You will work on mission computing, data links, displays, CNI, and weapon systems within a cross-site team.

The role requires 8+ years of C/C++ embedded development, experience in mission systems, and the ability to travel 10%.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of C/C++ development experience.
• Experience in mission systems software architecture, development, and integration.
• C/C++ development for real-time embedded systems.
• Integration and interoperability testing in lab and simulated environments.
• Ability to work onsite 100%.
• Ability to travel 10%.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, integrate, and test software for mission systems within avionics architectures.
• Work within a high-performing, multi-site team and collaborate across deployment teams.
• Support real-time, safety-critical software development and integration for mission capabilities.
