Job summary

Thompson Software Solutions in Fort Worth, TX or Palmdale, CA is seeking a Principal Software Engineer – Mission Systems to design, develop, integrate, and test software enabling core mission capabilities within avionics architectures. The role covers mission computing, data links, displays, CNI, and weapon system software to deliver real-time operational functionality.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in STEM field required.
• 8+ years of C/C++ development experience.
• Experience in mission systems software architecture, design, development and integration.
• Software development across mission systems (CNI, data links, displays, sensors, EW, etc.).
• C/C++ development for real-time embedded systems.
• Integration and interoperability testing in lab and simulated environments.
• Onsite work required (100%).
• Ability to travel ~10%.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, integrate and test software for core mission capabilities.
• Work on mission computing, data links, sensors, CNI, displays and weapon systems.
• Collaborate across multi-site teams to deliver integrated software solutions.
• Engage in documentation and code reviews to ensure high-quality, reliable software.
