AutoStore, based in Atlanta, USA, seeks a Principal Architect to own a significant portion of our middleware, collaborating with engineering leadership to define the technical vision, build world-class architecture, and ensure robust connectivity between cloud and on-prem systems.

You will drive latency, throughput, availability targets and scalable design while mentoring engineers and shaping engineering standards.

Qualifications

10+ years in software engineering with 3+ years in architect capacity.
Experience in on-prem and cloud environments.
Experience in warehouse logistics / intralogistics domain preferred.
Strong programming languages and platforms for control systems and backend services.
Proven design of orchestration layers across independent subsystems.
Knowledge of concurrency, state machines, event-driven/messaging architectures, fault tolerance.
Ability to define APIs and integration contracts between independent systems.
Bachelor's or Master's degree in CS/Engineering or related field.

Responsibilities

Define responsibilities and ownership across platform layers.
Define API, messaging, and integration contracts across components.
Contribute to CubeVerse platform architecture for cloud and on-prem connectivity.
Set latency, throughput, availability and fault isolation expectations.
Define data flows and patterns for performance and reliability.
Define scalable coordination patterns across controllers and domains.
Own architecture decisions, reference designs, and engineering standards.
Mentor engineers and guide technical reviews.
